She was very kind and totally made my day :) I decided to go to the store to grab a few things and just like a normal store trip., I hear “Woah!!! Wow!!! How tall are you!?!?” From ACROSS the store 😂. Not me trying to ignore and focus on the items I was trying to buy because I have ADHD and will literally forget. But then she came up to me asking a ton of questions- the usual- the basketball ones and clothes questions. I actually appreciate these moments a lot because it takes me out of my head which I like many struggle to get out of most days. #overthinker here 😂 I then had a few more people join us to discuss being a larger woman and what it’s like to be quite literally called out for our form of different. I feel pretty good in my height and body most days but there’s those times when I do feel a little off just like everyone else., but I don’t have the luxury of hiding in the crowd. 😆 I’m on the receiving end of continuous staring., questions, curiosities, awe and even disgust by people everywhere I go and that’s okay. As long as people can remember to be a little kinder to eachother :). But this is much larger than me lol., I never usually ignore people (unless the comments are super rude) I’m quite friendly and jolly literally but one thing I can say is that the most common question of “do you play basketball” is something I find teaching people to stop assuming because of body size. Most people don’t even realize they’re stereotyping me based on body size because basketball is seen as a very cool sport for very tall people 😂 Anyway., this happens daily and it adds so much fun to my life because I actually LOVE meeting people and talking hahaha 😝
