Originated in Japanese culture, forest bathing is done by detaching from modern conveniences of society (phone and camera) and tuning one’s senses into the present surrounding; the light of the sun coming through the leaves, the sound of the the wind rusting the branches, the smell of the fresh foliage, array of contrast and colors in flowers. This savoring of the forest is recommenced to be done for 2 hrs. Think about this on your next hike, setting your intention and grounding yourself into the ubiquitous connection of ourselves and Mother Earth. Benefits include reducing stress and anxiety, boosting immunity, improving quality of sleep, increasing attention and nurturing creativity.
