The more I study relationships and understand communication, the more aware I have become of MY lack of communication. I can be so indirect and wishy-washy sometimes. I find this typically happens when I don’t take the time to go inside myself and ask what I really want deep down. I mean, when was the last time you asked yourself what you really wanted to say. Awareness brings clarity! Practice being aware of your thoughts and what you truly want – chances are you will have an easier time obtaining your want, desires or goals! In an open relationship, clear communication is a pillar in building a strong foundation. James and I talk so much about EVERYTHING. And I fucking love it (partially bc I am a Gemini and love discussions)? But seriously he knows as best he can what’s going through my head and vice versa. If we are unclear, we ask! And we always practice communicating in a loving and kind way. There is no sense in being offensive, rude or hurtful. If that’s too difficult one of us takes space alone. When the emotions shift, we reconnect and talk.
