The association with gingerbread for the holiday supposedly comes from this Brothers’ Grimm tale of Hansel and Gretel (no joke!) and people making their own decorative festive cookies for the holiday. 🎄For the record, I made all my own Christmas cookies one year. All different kinds. I even wore something like this while I did it. Not only is a bakery-bought better, but I was covered and flour and a skimpy outfit does not, in fact, protect your buns from a hot oven behind you! 🙃🤭
