The modern version of today is more closely linked to pioneers, having had access to more widely available hand-produced yarn, and creating blankets with it. Fun fact: there are “sheep and wool” festivals all over the world where shepherds, yarn-makers and hobbyists convene to appreciate the art of fiber arts.
