This is my first public post as an openly "Queer" man, and I couldn't have designed a better catalyst.
I have a VERY clear memory of being an 8~9 year old chil* and asking my dad why I had to go to the most BORING thing I'd ever experienced (church). He told me he KNEW he was going to heaven and didn't want to be there and find out I wasn't coming. I remember feeling like I'd had my heart torn out. The hole in the chest feeling I had for DECADES thinking about it. The FEAR it caused.... The decades of self repression I went through afterwards... The things I did as a youn* boy that were innocent but which I still hide to this day....
Finding myself and embracing myself gave me the courage to LIVE my LIFE how I wanted. But they hurt at least 6 others because I wasn't given that window from the start. I'm a MAN who enjoys wearing KILTS or SKIRTS on occasion. Who wears 3-6" heals when I fucking want. Who wears sports bras as crop tops and crop tops as crop tops. Who LOVES feeling SEXY in lacey shit even though I have a bio-cock. Who occasionally enjoys same sex play and MAY JUST enjoy same sex relationships... I am a MAN who spent the last f.o.u.r. years embracing his queerness and disguising it as being for the protection of others because people won't fuck with me... I'm a man who spent the last month asking queer folks what "Queer* meant to them and evaluating himself because I don't want to steal anyone else's identity or experience. To be clear for my trans friends, I'm not trans or NB. I'm a man who don't give a single flying fuck who clothes were designed for and does what the fuck he wants.
Lil Nas X gave me the COURAGE to LIVE that life openly. To be ME in the public square. To claim my identity for myself. To tell YOU that I'm a socialist libertarian QUEER man of confused sexuality who is agnostic and finds the Satanist Temple the most convincing explanation of human existence. NO, I don't worship the devil. Look up the tenants of the satanic temple, you fucking potato.
