While equity and prejudice are still things we struggle with, Juneteenth (known by many names, including Freedom Day and Emancipation Day) is a day to celebrate; no one should live their life unwillingly bound to the will of another, especially for simply being born Black. Whether you attend church, see a parade, or just have a barbeque like I did, celebrate the freedom that was attained that day, and remember that we have to fight for equality โ
