Coucouuu! ๐ howโs your Monday going? ๐ if the answer to this was any of the following:
๐ meh
๐ itโs going
๐ not great
๐ฃ terrible
๐ฎโ๐จ or any for of sighโฆ
i might have something that could hopefully make it a bit better, or at least bring a smile/giggle to your lips โบ๏ธ i will be content with even the smallest joy I can bring you ๐
so hereโs some comedic relief in the form of me having another attempt at working out ๐ or rather say, to keep up working out ๐ however, i only did one session and can tell you that i enjoy this much more than Steve Zimโs workout website.
First of all, Steve Zim is amazing, I think his knowledge about working out certain muscle groups and achieving a specific physique are wider and deeper than anyoneโs in the industry. But, but, but! ๐ I just wish he would change the interface of the website/app, which at the moment only offers you the breakdown of the workout (i.e. 20 reps of exercise A, 20 reps of exercise B), as well as short videos of how to perform each exercise. This workout might be great for someone training at the gym, maybe with some company, but I kept losing count of how many reps I did and to be honest, just losing interest & focus. If I do a home workout I like having someone *there* with me, to watch and follow as I go along. So I am terribly sad, because I genuinely and truly believe in his knowledge and in the fact that if followed through meticulously, his regime would have great results. But as with everything in life, the whole experience matters, and sometimes the packaging is just as important as the content ๐
I am more confident I will be keeping on with this new app because itโs basing the workouts on yoga flows, and as you might know by now - yoga is the only form of exercise truly close to my heart and mind ๐งโโ๏ธ so being able to incorporate that into a workout, certainly makes it more appealing. The app (which also matters, itโs an app - although I wish they would offer a desktop version too, as I like having the option) is user friendly, you have different individual workouts, as well as series & challenges. Oh and I also got the full year membership cause it was only twice more than the monthly cost ๐ I know this is how they trick you in getting the yearly, but really in this case they left me no choice (it was โฌ15 for the month and โฌ30 for the year).
I wish they would offer a more personalised programme, like Steve Zim did, especially since they ask you for height & weight, as well as level of fitness, which would imply they are developing some form of schedule for you. However the app gives you full flexibility on what workouts to choose, and for someone like me that can be a bit overwhelming. I ended up just starting a 7-day Beach Body Challenge & will see how this goes (although any body is a beach body ๐)
Despite this, I am hoping to persevere with this one and get back to how toned I was last summer, although I was also jogging back then & thatโs certainly not happening again ๐ I am hoping to soon see an improvement in my form and the way I look doing the exercises. Until then, enjoy my wobbly core and you have permission to laugh at it too ๐
*Would you like to see more workout videos/updates, and if so - how frequent?*
